The phenomenon of "therapeutic" abductions and wilderness stays, as well as the entire industry surrounding the treatment of troubled teenagers, is a much-publicized topic in America today; because of the deaths of several children, there were trials, investigations before Congress, etc. Less is known about this topic in our country, and it may be interesting for the Czech reader to get to know it through the very emotional story of a girl who experienced everything firsthand.

Fifteen-year-old Elizabeth is an exemplary student, a great athlete, but it's not easy for her - she secretly goes out with her classmates in the evenings, has already gotten drunk enough times and has uncontrollable outbursts of anger (diagnosed much later as part of her depression). The parents lose patience and believe in the possibility of an easy fix - so one night Elizabeth is kidnapped directly from her room by two unknown people and taken to the wilderness, where she spends three months "re-educating" in harsh conditions with a group of other problem girls. He will spend the next year in a "therapeutic boarding school", whose program is more like a sect. Many years later, after the suicide of a friend with whom she became close at school, she is able to return to the traumatic memories and try to write them out in this book.
