The Great Gatsby was first published in 1925. It was not very popular during the author's lifetime, but today it is one of the best-known and most-read works of modern American literature and is undoubtedly the most popular of Francis Scott Fitzgerald's many books.

The beautiful Daisy Buchanan and the young rich man James Gatz, also known as the Great Gatsby, have penetrated into the spheres of better society in their own way and are similarly coping with the new lifestyle. Gatsby becomes fabulously rich from the illegal alcohol trade, but he never fits into the new society, because interpersonal relationships are still of the highest value to him.

The story of passion and tragic love is evidently timeless and still popular, so much so that in 2013 this story was also made into a film with Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead role.
