Fausto, a failed writer, leaves Milan after breaking up with his longtime partner and finds refuge in a mountain village. Unexpectedly, he gets a job as a cook in a small restaurant popular with the mountaineers and run by the warm-hearted Babette. She too ran away from the city years ago and brought some friendliness to the village. In the new novel, the author draws pictures from the everyday life of the local residents, in which, together with the changes of the seasons, he records the transformation of human desires and dreams.
