The year is 1942 and Jews in Slovakia are not allowed to leave the house after nine o'clock in the evening, they are not allowed to gather, they are not allowed to go to school... orders pile up one after another. And here comes another: unmarried women between the ages of sixteen and thirty-six are ordered to report for forced labor. Their relatives are worried about their loved ones, but they try to have a positive attitude: they will prove to others that Jews are hardworking and honest, the girls will earn a few crowns and return home. So women put on their best clothes, pack the essentials in their suitcases and set off on their journey. However, they do not know that their government, headed by President Tis, paid Germany to deport them. Thus, a transport with thousands of unsuspecting women, who await their gradual liquidation, leaves Poprad, Slovakia. This book charts their destinies.
