From the opening track Snow-covered eyes to the finale They have already buried me a hundred times, it is a show of the best: Gott's excellent career contains many times the number of famous and popular songs. The difficult task of choosing the truly most essential was undertaken by traditional collaborator Jan Adam, who - under the careful supervision of the singer himself - fished out the most typical samples from all phases of building Gott's well-deserved star credit. In addition to the set of classic recordings, this 2CD compilation was also supplemented with suitable alternative versions or complete CD premieres. On the first CD you will find 29 songs, on the second 21, i.e. a straight new fifty, supplemented with an editorial note, provided with sound remastering and packaged with the use of an extraordinary mood enticing photograph of Ondřej Pýcha on the title. The best of original Czech work (Suchý and Šlitr, J. Klempíř, K. Svoboda, L. Štaidl, J. Zmožek, etc.), a representative line-up of cover versions with an unmistakable Gott stamp, as well as diversely excellent duet partners Helena Vondráčková, Lucie Bílá , Darinka Rolincová and Marcela Holanová, form the basis for a clear statement: this new compilation is a fifty-song great tribute to the Karel Gott phenomenon.
