In autobiographical prose, poet, meteorologist and wanderer Roman Szpuk describes his expeditions to the Šumava forests. He goes to the storm-whipped lookout on the top of Boubín, to the winter crossing of the Basum ridge or to the roaring deer. He meets people from the fringes of society, but often with inner wealth. He intersperses the diaries with short poems - haiku and complements them with photographs taken with a self-made camera obscura.

The book was nominated for the Josef Škvorecký Prize. The second edition is expanded with texts from 2018.
