Erbenova Kytice is based on Czech national legends and stories, each of which is layered and resounds with an allegory or warning slogan, which not only successfully interprets the strict moral values ​​of Czech traditional society, but also perfectly depicts the soul of the Czech nation.
Czech writers, visual artists and musicians were significantly influenced by him, including Bedřich Smetana (1824-1884), Jan Neruda (1834-1891), Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904), Leoš Janáček (1854-1928) and Bohuslav Martinů (1890- 1959).
All of them expressed in their work the desire for the rise of the Czech nation
In December 2021, Mi:Lu Publishing published Erben's Bouquet in Taiwan in a traditional Chinese translation. And this year, the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan included this edition in the selection of recommended reading for Taiwanese elementary and middle school students.
The Taiwanese edition of Bouquet could be the impetus for the "rediscovery" of Erben's timeless and not always sufficiently appreciated work in our country.
