What was love in the face of enormous hatred, death and humiliation? Was it right to enjoy her while so many people were losing their lives?
It is the end of August 1938.
Hania Wolińska, a Polish student of German studies, is the companion of a wealthy German countess. She meets the grandson of her employer, Count Johann von Richter, and a mutual fascination begins to develop between them. At the von Richter family residence in Munich, Polka comes face to face with the Nazi fanaticism that is spreading through Germany.
Against the background of rising Nazism and the impending war in Europe, Hania and Johann fall in love. The girl, as the fiancee of a count, enters German salons and meets the highest representatives of the Third Reich. At the same time, she is recruited by the Polish authorities to give them Hitler's secret plans for Poland and Europe...
And so they are suddenly forced to wage a moral battle for love from opposite sides of the barricade.
