The life story and testimony of Army General Emil Boček, a still living war hero and veteran of World War II.

The life story of Emil Boček is truly fascinating. He was born in 1923 in Brno, from where he left secretly at the end of 1939, reaching Beirut via the Balkan route. As a private in an infantry regiment, he took part in the retreating battles in France in the summer of 1940. In September 1940, he was already in Britain and signed up for the air force. He first served as a fighter mechanic, in October 1942 he was accepted into pilot training and could thus become one of the youngest Czechoslovak fighter pilots who had completed operational flights during the Second World War. Emil Boček says that he is the youngest of the RAF pilots still alive. He was recruited into the RAF, first serving as a mechanic, then as a fighter pilot with the Czechoslovak 310th fighter squadron, and has completed 26 operational flights.

An exceptional project based on interviews and memories of Emil Boček, led by historian Jiří Plachy, who specializes in the issue of Czechoslovak soldiers serving in the RAF.

Army General Emil Boček is a holder of the Order of the White Lion for extraordinary services to the defense and security of the state and excellent combat activity.
