It is Sunday 28 June 1914. The confused driver Leopold Lojka stops the car with František Ferdinand and his wife. He engages reverse gear and thus gives Gavril Princip the opportunity to attack. For the helpless Lojka, this moment becomes a lifelong trauma. Even after a hundred years, the Sarajevo assassination is a hugely alive topic. Journalist and former Balkan correspondent of Czech Radio Martin Ježek together with Balkanist Pavel Trojan wrote the successful book Tak nám zabili Ferdinanda, which reveals in its seven reports the background of Czech traces in Bosnia and Herzegovina that were unintentionally leading to the Sarajevo assassination. Now, the new and updated version of this remarkable book has also received its audio version, when it was read by the reporter of the foreign editorial office of the Czech Radio and the author of the book, Martin Ježek, together with the actor and musician Ondřej Brzobohatý. For the very first time, listeners have the opportunity to listen to Czech stories that wrote world history. Some of them also blend into the current reality of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Remarkable stories about interesting coincidences leading to the assassination of Francis Ferdinand.
