Martina, a divorcee in her thirties, lives for her gardening. Nowhere is she happier than among conifers and bonsai. She likes to take care of them, she likes to talk about them. It may seem that he does not need anything else to live, but this is not the case. In the back of her mind, she realizes that she misses a man. As a partner and as a lover. Most of her friends feel the same way, but luck smiles on her. A man who seems absolutely perfect enters her life. He only acts strangely when she wants to talk to him about the disappearance of her neighbor. At the same time, Martina saw her naked with a stab wound in the neck for a moment. Well, she probably only imagined it...
The days when Miroslav Macek paid for one of the most prominent faces of Czech politics are apparently in the past. However, his name did not disappear from the Czech consciousness by any chance. Not only does he continue to be a sought-after political commentator with an often unusual perspective, he has also become a successful writer under the XYZ banner. He mainly devotes himself to humorous literature and detective stories, while it is natural for him to combine both genres to a large extent. The Case of the Librarian in Love is no exception in this regard, where he has placed the titular protagonist in the detective framework, whose love escapades are in many ways not comparable to Bridget Jones.
The case of a librarian in love has a chance to attract a wide range of readers precisely because of its genre scope. Macek approaches the detective novel from the position of a fan of its classic form, which has a tradition in our country thanks to Eduard Fiker or Emil Vachko, but does not resist the penetration of more modern literary trends represented by the fate of the "librarian in love.
